First up on the list is the Apex DOS by Neptune Systems (Retail: $349.99-$569.99). This nifty piece of tech eliminates the old and tedious water changes and makes dosing your system at insanely accurate levels as easy as a push of a button, Literally. And did we mention you can do this all from your smartphone?!? Impressive. And ridiculously cool!
Hate doing water changes? – everyone does – so they never get done as often as they should. Not only that, water changes are disruptive to the stability of your system since all of that change is happening at once.
With the DOS all you do is place your empty vessel and your fresh stock of saltwater under your stand. Then, with the Apex Fusion wizard just tell it amount of water you want to change over what length of time and the hours of the day you want it to happen and it figures it all out for you. It will perform an automatic, continuous water change for you. It gets better. If you have our dual optical water sensing accessory Apex Fusion will send you an email or text message letting you know it is time to change out the jugs. Less time pumping, siphoning, and sloshing water and more time enjoying a great aquarium
In order to use the DOS system you do have to purchase the Apex Fusion controller which retails from $239.99 all the way up to $524.95, depending on options. Yes the sticker shock happened to us as well, but trust us, if you are a hardcore aquarium enthusist it is worth the investment over the long term.

This is one our favorite products and our go to reef wave pump. The Hydor Koralia 3rd Generation. We have tested virtually every wave pump/circulator on the market and the Hydor Koralia by far is our favorite. We use this pump or the first generation of this pump on all of our store tanks be cause of their easy setup and reliability. The Regal Angelfish is a semi agressive Indo-Pacific saltwater fish that adapts very quickly to aquarium life. They are very easy to spot with their brightly patterned vertical blue, yellow, white and orange stripes that run down it's body. If you have a reef setup you must use caution when adding the Regal Angelfish to the mix, they can get a bit testy with other fish once they establish their territory. Also be sure to give them ample hiding spots and some live rock for grazing. If you are a fish collector this little gem is a must have for any saltwater tank.
Tons of features and a low price point makes the AI PRIME another one of our favorite aquarium lights and another fantastic addition to the Aqua Illuminations lineup. If you are looking for an absolutely unique addition for your saltwater aquarium we would highly recommend this guy. The Mantis Shrimp! These bad boys pack a punch, Literally! The mantis shrimp (A.K.A. Sea Locust) is unlike any other marine crustacean as it has two "clubs" instead of claws. The mantis shrimp can wield it's "clubs" at speeds faster than the speed of sound! This causes a shockwave in the water which can stun their prey even if they miss. Super Cool! Retail: $49.99-$99.99
When most people think of home aquariums they think of the old style cabinets with trim pieces that look like they came straight out of your grandparents collection. That is no longer the case thanks to Red Sea's new Reefer lineup we can finally drag our aquarium out of the basement or the office and into our home. With clean lines, a modern design and two universal colors to choose from, these tanks fit very nicely in any living space. Retail: $749.99-$2199.99
When it comes to anemones our personal favorite is the Carpet Anemone. This massive creature is just spectacular to look at and because of its size it makes a great addition to any saltwater aquarium. We must warn you that all anemones will fight if given the chance and typically it is to the death. If you currently have other anemones in your tank we would highly recommend giving this one a wide berth. Also it finds fish highly delicious so keep an eye on this one if you have smaller sized fish in your tank.
